Getting Started

BACKGROUND INFORMATION

If you have any concerns regarding the speech, language or communication skills of your child, (or the communication of a loved one/spouse due to stroke or head injury) and you would like to consult with a Speech-Language Pathologist, please fill out the Contact form. Once the form is returned to the clinic, you will be contacted and it will be determined if a one-hour consultation with a Registered Speech-Language Pathologist will be recommended.

WHAT WILL HAPPEN AT THE CONSULTATION?

A Registered Speech-Language Pathologist (SLP) will meet with the child and parent(s). A screening of speech, language and communication skills will be conducted through informal assessment. A discussion of the areas of strength and weakness will occur. If a significant concern is identified at the initial consultation, then assessment sessions will be recommended so that comprehensive testing can be undertaken.
