This information sheet outlines the policies and procedures of the clinic as of February 27, 2021

Location

Semiahmoo Speech Services has two locations at:

#207-15230 56th Ave., Surrey, B.C. We are conveniently located on the S.E. corner of Hwy 10 and 152nd Street, in the Canadian Western Bank Building next to the CHEVRON gas station. It is a 3-story glass building with some bright orange and blue coloring on the windows.

#400-601 West Broadway, Vancouver, B.C.   

Parking/Elevator

#207-15230 56th Ave., Surrey, B.C. : There is ample parking right outside the building in the parking lot.  You have FREE parking for 3 hours.  If needed, there is a handicap parking stall directly in front of the building.  An elevator or stairway can take you to the second floor.

#400-601 West Broadway, Vancouver, B.C. : Pay parking is available underground.  

 

Cancellations

Please notify the clinic if you cannot make your appointment. This allows someone from the waiting list to attend at that time. If an appointment is not cancelled within 24 hours, the scheduled fee will be charged. It is necessary for all clients to read and sign the Cancellation Statement before the first appointment. We will provide a copy for you to sign when you come in.

Extended Health Benefits

It is a good idea to contact your Extended Health Provider to ask what rebate /coverage you are entitled to for both assessment as well as treatment sessions for speech-language therapy. Also, remember to ask how much money you can claim for your child or yourself over the course of one year, as this varies with different insurance providers.

 

Confidentiality

All client related details remain strictly confidential. If another professional requests a copy of the assessment results, client/parental permission will be obtained prior to the release of any information.

Other Information

You may be asked to locate other relevant information including school reports, work samples, reports from other professionals and language/video samples. Please bring these documents with you to the initial appointment.

 

To our valued clients:

The College of Speech and Hearing Health Professionals of BC (CSHBC) has permitted speech-language service to begin for in-person services. Based on the lastest development in BC and starting June 1, 2020 Semiahmoo Speech Services Inc. will provide some in-person assessment and therapy services. As well, we will continue to encourage virtual services when possible with our clients.

Please review our Safety Protocol on the website as well as our Self-Assessment for COVID-19. This information oultines our safety guidelines and changes in how we are operating inside the clinic to allow for a safe and healthy service at our office.
